When selling property, how much room should sellers leave for negotiation?

I usually see sellers keeping around 5-10% room for negotiation. Buyers often expect some flexibility, and a reasonable margin helps both sides reach a deal comfortably.

It depends on market conditions. In a strong seller’s market, there may be little need to leave much room for negotiation.

I prefer listing close to my target price and leaving a small margin rather than starting too high.
