Should property buyers ask for approved building plans before purchasing a constructed house?

When buying an already constructed house, people usually inspect its condition and ownership documents. But how important is it to compare the actual construction with the approved building plan? Could unapproved extensions or structural changes cause problems for a future owner?

I’d definitely check it, especially where significant modifications have been made. A beautiful extension doesn’t necessarily mean it was approved.

It becomes even more important if you plan to renovate later. Existing deviations can complicate future approvals.
