Network coverage can vary significantly even within the same property, especially in basements or houses surrounded by tall construction. Should testing calls and mobile data from different floors become a normal part of property inspection?

Yes, definitely. Mobile reception can change a lot between floors, especially in basements where thick concrete walls can weaken signals. I’d test both calls and mobile data in the areas you expect to use regularly.

Yes. A strong signal on the ground floor doesn’t guarantee good basement coverage. Testing both floors with your usual SIM/network before buying is a sensible part of the inspection.

I think it’s worth checking separately. Basements often have weaker signals because of concrete walls and being below ground level. I’d also test different rooms, since coverage can vary even within the same floor.

Absolutely. Besides checking signal bars, try making a call and running mobile data on both floors. Signal bars alone don’t always tell you whether the connection will actually be reliable.
