How important is a flexible lease term when choosing a rental property?

Some tenants prefer one-year leases for stability, while others value shorter or more flexible agreements. Would a flexible lease influence your decision even if the rent was slightly higher?

A flexible lease is definitely a plus, especially if you’re not sure how long you’ll stay. I’d consider paying a little more for the convenience, but only if the rent increase is reasonable.

I prefer a one-year lease because it gives me stability and usually locks in the rent. Flexibility is nice, but I’d rather save money if I know I’ll be staying long-term.

For me, flexible lease terms are very important. Life and work situations can change quickly, so having the option to move without heavy penalties is worth paying a bit extra.

It depends on the price difference. If the rent is only slightly higher, I’d choose the flexible lease. But if it’s a significant increase, I’d stick with a standard one-year agreement.
